Update on postponement of routine blood tests

On 23 August 2021, NHS England instructed all hospitals and GP practices across the country to postpone all non-essential blood tests with immediate effect. This is due to a national shortage of blood tubes which is slowly starting to resolve. We are starting to rebook patients for their blood tests but have been asked to do this gradually so that supplies are not compromised again. If you were asked to call in October, please wait until then to book your appointment. We are gradually sending text messages to patients who have been postponed to rebook and therefore slowly working through the backlog of patients requiring blood tests.

Thank you
